Welcome back to “Burnistoun”, the strange, but thankfully fictional, Scottish town created by writer/performers Iain Connell and Robert Florence. This second series of the acclaimed show sees the return of some popular comic characters including Paul and Walter, the snippy, dysfunctional siblings who manage to create high drama out of running an ice cream van. Also back are Jolly Boy John, the bedroom surrealist who is “for real” and Peter and Scott, the Burnistoun everymen. Joining them this series are “quality” police team McGregor and Toshan, Burnistoun’s best Kenny Roger’s impersonators and Doberman Man, the defender of justice, honesty and wee virgins everywhere. Inventive, colourful, warm and ridiculous, this second series proves that Burnistoun is the place to visit for sketch-based hilarity.
