Sven Hjerson returns to Aland after being informed of his mother's death.

Klara and Hjerson rethink their suspect list when another murder occurs.

A battered man wearing a chicken costume disappears from a beach in Åland. Klara shows up to help Hjerson and maybe get a scoop for her programme at the same time. Old memories come to the fore for Hjerson as they dig into the case.

After being shot at, Hjerson intensifies the hunt for the culprit. Meanwhile, the Åkerman family's façade begins to crack. With Oscar in hospital and Harriet back in his life, the case suddenly becomes very personal for Hjerson.

A murder in a restaurant turns out to be copied from a book that has not yet been published. The author approaches Hjerson and Klara to solve the case. Only five people have had access to the manuscript and one of them must be the killer.

The number of suspects is further reduced when it turns out that the second murder can also be linked to the book. Hidden motives surface, but it seems that the killer is always one step ahead.
