Ainsley's Taste of Malta

Ainsley starts his Maltese adventure in its stunning capital city of Valletta. He first joins historian Liam for a tour of the harbour where he discovers why Malta is such a melting pot of cultures, and the impact this has on the cuisine.

Ainsley explores the south of Malta starting in the picturesque fishing harbour of Marsaxlokk, where he ventures around the weekly fish market with local fisherman Joe to check out the catch of the day.

Ainsley's in central Malta as he starts his day by exploring the beautiful ancient city of Mdina. After touring it, Ainsley stops by a restaurant with an impressive history and view before dropping into the home of Maltese cookery legend Pippa.

Ainsley's adventure heads to the north of Malta and takes him to the Xemxija Heritage Trail to meet Keith and to do some foraging. Ainsley also visits an olive grove owned by Sam Cremona, the professed godfather of Maltese olive oil.

Ainsley heads to the idyllic island of Gozo to finish his journey, beginning with a picturesque picnic filled with the tastes of Malta courtesy of Ana. Ainsley then heads to a farm to find out how Maltese cheese is made.
