Following the father-son team of Clive and Reuben as they travel beyond their remote hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales in order to embark on an exciting digging business venture together.

Clive and Reuben's first job is digging a series of wilderness ponds in Cumbria. Reuben recruits girlfriend Sarah and best friend Tom to help him. Later, Reuben wins a contract to haul huge oak beams for a friend's stone barn renovation.

It's 18-year-old Reuben's first autumn in business and there are lessons for the whole team as they take on a super-sized stonework project. By the end of October, Reuben and Sarah collect a milestone purchase - Reuben's first car.

Reuben and the team take on the difficulties of winter during his third season in business. While mining for clay presents the team with a new challenge, Niall's pond dig is hit by the cold.

With spring approaching, Clive is busy preparing for lambing. Meanwhile, Reuben and his mates go to a vintage tractor fair where a classic Leyland tipper truck catches Reuben's eye.
