Tori Herridge and a team of scientists piece together the lives behind unearthed bones to find out their stories. Once a skeleton has been recorded, the bones immediately begin to reveal their mysteries, opening up a secret history of Britain.

Five bodies dating from the Bronze Age are found in a deep pit on the Isle of Thanet in Kent. One of them is an old woman, who has been manipulated into a position where she is pointing at something. The team try to find out at what and why.

Tori investigates the remains of children and teenagers found in the car park of the Victoria Gate shopping centre in Leeds.

The remains of over 100 young Anglo-Saxon men are found under a planned car park in Hampshire. Tori and the scientists investigate why they were denied a Christian interment and buried so remotely.
Series 2 Episode 1
The team visit a long-forgotten cemetery in Ipswich where 1,400 bodies reveal signs of hard labour, disease, murder and possibly the country's first post-mortem.
Series 2 Episode 2
The remains of a young woman are found on the A9, in the far north of Scotland; the team investigates the bones that were found in a grave at Achavanich in Caithness, and compare them to a body buried near Oyne, Aberdeenshire.

Tucked away in a Runcorn industrial park is the most excavated monastic site in Europe, revealing a story of medieval knights, brutal murder and ancient disease.
