Celebrity Race Across the World

Four new famous faces and their loved ones will be embarking on an epic 12,500km race from the Amazon rainforest all the way to the Andes at ground level, all without lavish transport, smartphones, and bank cards.

With the race to Frutillar in Southern Chile underway, the four teams leave the beach town of Canoa Quebrada and race through the northeast region of Brazil to their second checkpoint, Lençóis, the gateway to the Chapada Diamantina National Park.

The teams race from the cobblestoned town of Lençóis, Bahia, to the metropolis of São Paulo, a 2,400-mile-long journey through some of Brazil's biggest and most densely populated cities, including Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília.

The teams reach the halfway mark, and after sixteen days traversing the length of Brazil, it's time to cross the border and enter the heart of South America and three new countries: Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

It is the penultimate leg of the race to Frutillar in southern Chile. The teams race from Tigre, on the banks of the Paraná River, high into the far north of Argentina and 2,500 metres above sea level, to the 10,000-year-old mountain town of Tilcara.

The teams face their biggest challenge yet, racing a budget-crippling 1,708 miles across the mighty Andes into Chile. With just 39 minutes separating all four teams, it is all to play for.
