Sausage the Welsh pig is hours away from giving birth. It's soon apparent that Sausage's life, and the life of her unborn litter, are in danger. Later, Kate visits a traditional stone flourmill.
The sheep are needing their summer trim, so after rounding up the animals Kate and Tim waste no time in getting the shears out to give the sheep a much-needed cut. But with the sale price of wool falling, it has barely any value at market.
The cows are ready to give birth, but one struggles to deliver after having been stepped on by a weighty heifer. Kate pays a visit to a butcher to learn how to humanely kill pigs and prepare it so nothing goes to waste.
Kate is making hay whilst the sun shines. Making hay for bedding and food can be make or break for a farm, with a bad crop costing the darm thousands. Later, Kate walks down the River Usk, spotting sand martins, mute swans, a kingfisher, and more.
The farm's flock of breeding sheep is scanned to find out how many lambs each ewe is carrying. Later, Kate heads out foraging with Liz Knight, before cooking up a treat for Ludo.
Tim celebrates his birthday with a walk with Kate in the Monmouthshire countryside. Elsewhere, he also accompanies her on a shopping trip as she goes to look for a suitable Piétrain boar.
