Charley Boorman has travelled thousands of miles to produce his made-for-TV adventures, but he says the trip chronicled in this four-part series is one of the toughest he's ever been on. (And this is a man who has motorcycled from London to New York and completed an around-the-world trek using only local modes of transportation.) Intense, filled with tough challenges and covering more than 10,000 miles, `Extreme Frontiers' follows Boorman - with producer-director Russ Malkin riding shotgun - on a journey across Canada. Each episode features the host embark on a series of at-once dangerous and hilarious tasks, from wreck diving in Ontario and heli-biking in British Columbia to climbing 8,000 meters up Mount Fable in Alberta. The programme also offers breathtaking cinematography, as it was filmed during the summer months of the midnight sun.
