The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart

Nine-year-old Alice Hart lives with her parents on the outskirts of a small town called Wyuna. Tragedy strikes when a fire consumes the house, leaving Alice as the only survivor. Her grandmother, June Hart, whom she had never seen before, arrives.

Twig is happy that another child is coming to live in Thornfield, but June fears that this child will be "ruined too".

When Alice finally talks again, she demands answers about her family. However, June continues to spin a web of deceit to hide the painful and shameful past.

After 24-year-old Alice discovers the shocking extent of her grandmother's lies and manipulations with the help of a letter, she flees Thornfield. Alice starts a new life in the desert town of Agnes Bluff.

As Twig searches for Alice, Candy confronts June about the past. In Agnes Bluff, Alice believes she has found in Dylan someone who finally understands her, and who she can trust with everything.

Away from the oppression of Thornfield, Twig reconnects with her culture and her own grief. As June finally learns to speak the truth, Alice's dream of Dylan as her loving counterpart begins to transform into a nightmare.
