Magnificent Maghreb

We begin our journey inland beyond all Tunisian holiday clichés in front of the impressive backdrop of the Atlas Mountains and the steppes of gigantic high plateaus. The 'Table de Jughurta' is a massive natural fortress that historically served as a refuge.

The 2nd episode of our journey of discovery through Tunisia begins in Kairouan. The first Islamic city in the Maghreb is considered the intellectual center in North Africa and fascinates with its ornate decorations and noble marble floors.

The desert of Algeria is full of mysteries. Green oasis towns rugged rock formations and a Berber culture that is thousands of years old. Timimoun is considered one of the most beautiful desert cities in the world.

A coast full of surprises: Algeria is the largest country on the African continent. Almost 1200 kilometers of Mediterranean coast stretch between Tunisia in the east and Morocco in the west. There are enchanted mountains and beautiful bays.

The world is a peacock and Morocco is its tail - at least that's what a Moroccan proverb says. Moroccans are rightly proud of their country. It is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in the world with magnificent landscapes primitive clay buildings and colorful markets.
