Matt Baker takes his mum Janice and dad Mike on some memorable excursions around the North East, as they go behind the scenes at Bamburgh Castle Estate, one of finest coastal fortresses in the country.

The Bakers hitch up the caravan and head out to the Beamish Open-Air Museum. They uncover some wonderful objects hidden in the storerooms, and Matt experiences driving a 1900s tram.

The Bakers head to the World Heritage listed Durham Cathedral for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes trip. Matt goes on an underwater treasure hunt, and the whole family try out as choristers.

The Bakers head to Hexham, home to one of the UK's most scenic racecourses. After getting a rare glimpse into the world of the colourful characters involved in race day, Matt is off to the stables and saddles up for a ride on a winning horse.

The Bakers cross counties into North Yorkshire for a trip to Herriot Country. In Kilburn, Mike meets the ancestors of the famous 'Mouseman' furniture maker. And in Thirsk, the Bakers are given a special tour of James Herriot's home by his son Jim.
