`My Mother and Other Strangers' is written and created by Barry Devlin. Set in 1943, during World War Two, the drama follows the circumstances of a community based in Northern Ireland at the time. At the center of the narrative is the Coyne family and their neighbours, whose lives are disrupted when a US Army Air Force of 4,000 service men and women set up base in their rural parish. A school teacher and mother of three, Rose Coyne, finds herself trapped in a love triangle with her husband, Michael and a USAAF liaison officer, Captain Dreyfuss.
