This documentary series delves into the notorious murder mysteries of Scotland. Using primary sources - such as police reports, medical records and personal letters - crime experts piece together the evidence to discover the truth behind some of Scotland's grim events. Each episode is dedicated to a particular true story, which is dissected by legal professionals and then reconstructed by actors. Cases explored include Oscar Slater, who was held accountable for the murder of elderly spinster Marion Gilchrist; Jessie King, who was convicted of receiving funds to kill infants; and Donald Merrett, who killed himself following the murders of his mother, wife and mother-in-law.
