Jens and his wife Åsa pack up the family to spend the summer in the archipelago. However, it emerges that the parents-in-law do not intend to hand over the cottage to Jens and Åsa, but plan to spend the whole summer there with them.

It is Carro's daughter Nora's birthday, and Bobo must contend with cooking, an ex-husband and an angry mother-in-law. Gunnar has got lumbago, and Jens want to show he is a capable workman.

It's time for the family's annual croquet match, but wise from previous years, Jens refuses to participate and decides to hang out with a new acquaintance instead. However, he realises later that this was a mistake.

Carro thinks that Bobo is eating like a hippopotamus, and asks Åsa for help to get him to hold back a bit. Åsa and Jens receive an unwanted visit from the world's toughest couple.

Jens wake up with horrible pain in a wisdom tooth, but dare not tell Asa because he lied to her and said that he had already had it out. Carro questions the right of public access when some messy boat owners dock and camp on her plot.

Jens wants to show Gunnar who the man of the house really is. Carro and Bobo are visited by a couple who seem to know them very well, but they have no idea who the visitors actually are.
