This historical drama explores the fight for an independent Texas that occurred following the conclusion of the Battle of the Alamo. Gen Sam Houston leads a ragtag group of Texas Rangers into battle against Mexican Gen Santa Anna. Houston and the Rangers fight seemingly insurmountable odds to overtake the opponent and gain independence. The series comes from the same team behind Emmy Award-winning miniseries `Hatfields & McCoys' and, like that program, features Emmy nominee Bill Paxton, who plays Houston, in a prominent role.
