The Imam, Ahmad Bin Hanbal

The young Ahmad bin Hanbal is trying to lease out his late father's shop so it will free up his time to pursue sacred knowledge, he also deciphers a treacherous message that his uncle brings to the attention of the ruler in Baghdad.

After overhearing his uncle discuss state matters with a spy, Ahmad bin Hanbal is given a secret message by his uncle to drop off at the door of the Governor's house. He is also torn between his job and studies and has decisions to make.

At the request of his mother, Ahmed ibn Hanbal contemplates joining the lessons and circles of knowledge of the renowned scholar and Abbassid Judge, Qadi Abu Yousuf, unaware of the troubles ahead.
