The Waltons

A young girl is found on the doorstep of the Walton home. They take her in and later realise she is deaf. John Boy helps to teach her sign language.

Although the Walton children want to attend the Carnival, John and Olivia put their money to better use when grandma breaks her glasses.

When Chance the cow gives birth to a healthy calf, the Waltons are over the moon, but it must be sold to pay for some emergency repairs to John's truck.

John Boy has mixed feelings about his first Turkey Hunt, he wants to prove that he is a man and can provide for the family, but at the same time doesn't want to take the life of a living creature.

When John Boy borrows and antique typewriter so he can write a story for a magazine, Mary Ellen mistakenly sells it to a junk collector.

When Grandpa Walton sees a falling star he believes the old superstition which says death will be eminent. He therefore takes to his bed to await his time.
