UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler II

With a nickname like 'The Crowbar,' it's clear that Matt Hobar brings a high level of grit and determination to the Octagon, and that was never more evident than in his August bout against Aaron Phillips, as he dominated the action from start to finish en route to his first UFC win. In the opposite corner tonight is Sergio 'The Phenom' Pettis, perhaps the most highly-touted prospects to hit the division in years, and the Milwaukee native has delivered on the hype with wins over Will Campuzano and Yaotzin Meza and a Fight of the Night against Alex Caceres. Now he'll look to dismantle Hobar in his return to Las Vegas.

The UFC lightweight title will be on the line as Anthony "Showtime" Pettis defends his belt for the first time against his coaching rival on The Ultimate Fighter, former Strikeforce champion Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez.

Straight from the mixed martial arts hotbed of Long Island, New York, Eddie Gordon made a huge splash in his Octagon debut in July, winning the middleweight division of The Ultimate Fighter 19 with a devastating 71-second knockout of Dhiego Lima. Now he starts part two of his UFC journey against TUF 17's Josh Samman. A semifinalist during his stint on the reality show, Samman won his first UFC bout with a TKO of Kevin Casey before injury sidelined him. Tonight, he's back in action and looking forward to the opportunity to add another win to his record.

Undefeated in four amateur bouts, Justin Jones made the move to the pro ranks in 2014 and he didn't skip a beat, winning all three of his pro matches thus far. Even more telling is that he finished all of those bouts by KO or submission, making him an easy choice to join the UFC's light heavyweight roster. And while he's in tough with Corey Anderson tonight, he has the talent to get the respect of any opponent. Winner of TUF 19's light heavyweight division, Anderson knows all about taking matters into his own hands, as he earned a UFC contract in July with a 61 second knockout of Matt Van Buren. Now he begins the next chapter of his Octagon career.

The winner of season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter, Tony Ferguson's early UFC career was plagued by injuries, but since returning to active duty in late 2013, he has been unstoppable, defeating Mike Rio, Katsunori Kikuno, and Danny Castillo. Now all that stands between him and a move from prospect to contender is Abel Trujillo.

UFC welterweight champion Johny "Bigg Rigg" Hendricks and veteran knockout artist "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler meet in a rematch of their epic five-round title bout at UFC 171 that is guaranteed to produce fireworks.
