When Officers Minogue and O'Leary bring in a girl possessed by a demon, Sergeant Maaka invites them to join the secret Paranormal Unit of the Wellington Police. But when the demon escapes, they have to track it down before it opens the gates of hell.
Now firmly part of the Paranormal Unit, O'Leary and Minogue are sent to the rural outskirts to investigate sightings of a cow stuck up a tree.
Responding to a noise complaint, Minogue and O'Leary discover an old house full of 1970s ghosts. They return with a medium who soon disappears so it's a race to find her before she winds up dancing to Tina Cross for all eternity.
After a series of dog attacks in Naenae, Minogue and O'Leary suspect a werewolf could be on the loose. They rescue a woman from the creature but her story doesn't quite add up. Does she know more about werewolves than she's letting on?
Minogue and O'Leary look into the theft of some blood from Wellington Hospital. Suspecting vampires, they hunt for the blood bank officer (Nick from What We Do in the Shadows) who does look a bit 'vampirey'. Along the way they have some paranormal encounters.
Minogue and O'Leary have to chase down two fellow officers who have turned into brain-eating zombies, before they get to Wellington's ultimate meat market: Courtenay Place. And where are Sergeant Maaka's donuts!?
