After recently been promoted at ZBG Banking, Louise is blackmailed by her best friend Anna and her boyfriend Phillip to become part of a conspiracy to defraud the bank of millions of pounds.

When Louise's criminal activities are caught on CCTV, Crawford protects her by convincing his boss that she will lead the police to the fraudsters who forced her to work for them. Louise blames herself for Anna's death and turns to Crawford for comfort and support, but when she discovers he is not what he seems, she finds herself becoming increasingly isolated and in serious danger.

Louise decides to send Erica to live with her father, feeling that she will be safer there. Crawford informs her that Hugh Borne has been found dead, and warns her that she may be under surveillance in the bank. The criminals then make a plan to divert police attention as the money is transferred, but on the day of the scam, Louise is confused when there only appears to be half the money in the account.
