Wizards vs Aliens

TV Show · Action · Fantasy

Tom Clarke is not at all like his classmates, although he's a popular, sporty-looking 16-year-old. Truth be told, Tom has a secret: he's a wizard. He comes from a family of wizards, taught by his grandmother Ursula the ways of magic, which for Tom normally means using his daily allotment of three spells to make his life easier. But when the Nekross, an alien race determined to drain the world of magic, arrive on Earth, it's time for Tom to help others. Together with best buddy and science genius Benny, Tom embarks on a dark crusade to rid the world of an evil force he never imagined existed until now.

Tom Clarke may look like your average 16 year old- he's a hero of the school football team, he does his 'best' to remember his homework, and he has an eye for classmate Katie. But he has a secret you'd never imagine - hes the latest generation in a long family bloodline of wizards! He lives with his 'Enchanted' (wizard) gran Ursula and 'Unenchanted' (non-wizard) father Michael, who works as a vet. His mother Helen, also a wizard, died when he was young during a magical conflict. Tom, like all wizards, keeps his powers and the existence of magic secret- but cheekily isn't beyond using one of his three-spells-a-day (a wizard's quota) to finish his homework, or help him with the odd winning goal when he's playing a match! But that's all about to change. Tom and his newfound friend, science geek Benny Sherwood, discover that aliens have arrived in orbit above the Earth, and they want to consume all of the magic on the planet! The alien Nekross have already started to steal wizards from the planet and drain them of their magical energy- leaving them powerless and aged. They have travelled the universe, draining worlds of their magic and consuming it, and the Earth is the last magical planet left in existence! To aid in their quest, they have all manner of incredible technology at their disposal, including matter transporters, laser guns, and mind-controlling robots! On a school trip to the mysterious and magical Burnt Hill Stone Circle, Benny and Tom find a magical ring which had been dropped by a wizard who was kidnapped by the Nekross. The Nekross send one of their mind-controlling robots (the Voolox) to possess the boys' teacher and capture the magic-imbued ring. When they get back to school, the Voolox reveals itself and Tom uses a spell to defend them from its attack. They are then confronted at gun-point by Lexi, one of the Nekross, who transports down from the spaceship. Tom has used his three spells for the day and has no magic left to defend them with, but his gran Ursula steps in to protect them! On revealing herself to being a wizard, Lexi transports both her and Tom back to the ship, where they are taken before the huge, bloated form of the monstrous Nekross King...

    Episode 2
Standing up to the Nekross King, Ursula launches magical bolts at its monstrous form until she has used up her three spells, and to no avail - the Nekross absorb magical energy! The Nekross threaten to feed on Tom and Ursula, but Ursula distracts them with some foul-smelling 'Elf Lights' and Tom manages to escape back to Earth by using the ship's matter transporter. Ursula is, however, captured and thrown in a cell with two wizards who've had their magic drained, and been aged into decrepitude - and she's next on the menu... Back on Earth, Tom makes it his mission to save his gran, and with Benny in tow ventures for the first time into Ursula's magical place of power - the Chamber of Mysteries. This is reached through the downstairs loo, and accessed using a secret knock. On reaching the Chamber, they meet its Guardian - diminutive Hobgoblin Randal Moon, who attempts to transport them to the Nekross ship using a spell. But the boys end up back at the stone circle - magic doesn't work on the Nekross ship or technology either! Tom's father Michael is furious at Randal for sending the boys off on their own, and chases after them in his 4x4, but only after he pockets a magical 'Egg of Brimstone' from the Chamber! Realising that using magic attracts the Nekross, Randal brings the magic of the stone circle to life, just as the Nekross are about to drain Ursula on their ship. They stop, and instead head towards the source of the magic, transporting Tom, Benny, Michael and his 4 x4 aboard! They are taken before the King, where Nekross siblings Varg and Lexi continue draining Ursula, only to be distracted by Michael who uses the egg of Brimstone to create a searing white light! They escape, and lock themselves in the ship's arrival chamber, with Varg attempting to cut through the door... But dawn is breaking on Earth, and the wizards regain their three spells for a new day! Tom formulates a plan, creating a 'Shroud of Protection' (or force-field to Benny!) around Michael's 4x4 which allows him to drive straight through the side of the ship and back to Earth! The Nekross swear they will have their wizards, and back on Earth Tom and Benny are resolved to protect magic, and the Earth, from the alien menace - 'It's aliens versus wizards. And I'm ready for them.
