Edgar Winter was most commonly known for his impressive musical talents. Winter began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the action flick "Air America" (1990) with Mel Gibson, the fantasy "Netherworld" (1992) with Michael Bendetti and the comedy "My Cousin Vinny" (1992) with Joe Pesci. His music also appeared in "Encino Man" (1992) with Sean Astin, "Dazed and Confused" (1993) with Jason London and the Mike Myers comedy sequel "Wayne's World 2" (1993). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Winter's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Angela Bassett musical drama "What's Love Got to Do With It" (1993), the Joseph Mazzello adventurous drama "Star Kid" (1998) and the Giuseppe Andrews comedy "Detroit Rock City" (1999). His work was also in the comedic drama "Duets" (2000) with Gwyneth Paltrow. Winter's music was also featured in "Invincible" (2006), the Ben Stiller box office smash comedy "Tropic Thunder" (2008) and the Kevin James hit comedic action flick "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" (2009).
