Raymond Bussières

Raymond Bussieres was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Bussieres's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Simone Signoret period drama "Casque d'or" (1952), "Beauties of the Night" (1954) and "Bedevilled" (1955) with Anne Baxter. He also appeared in "Paris Palace Hotel" (1956) with Charles Boyer, the Brigitte Bardot comedy "That Darned Kid" (1956) and the Pierre Brasseur dramatic adaptation "Gates of Paris" (1958). His film career continued throughout the sixties and the seventies in productions like the action flick "Up From the Beach" (1965) with Cliff Robertson, the adventure "Nuits rouges" (1973) with Jacques Champreux and the dramedy "La Soupe froide" (1974) with Julian Negulesco. In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "La Carapate" (1978), "La Barricade du point du Jour" (1978) with Edmond Ardisson and "Subversion" (1979). He also appeared in "Le Mouton Noir" (1979) and "Le Dernier Melodrame" (1980). Bussieres was most recently credited in the Jean Martin animated adaptation "Le Roi et l'oiseau" (2014). Bussieres passed away in April 1982 at the age of 75.
