Víctor García

Few directors find success with their first film, but Victor Garcia's debut allowed him to meet one of his idols when the Barcelona-born director's first film (for which he also wrote the screenplay), "The Cycle," won the Best Horror Short award at the Screamfest Film Festival in Los Angeles. When Garcia found out that he would have the opportunity to meet special effects artist Stan Winston, he depleted his savings to travel to the United States to accept the award in person. Garcia's very first job in the motion picture industry was working on the 2001 horror flick "Faust: Love of the Damned ," directed by Brian Yuzna. Garcia worked as a special effects technician on that film and played the same role on Pedro Almodovar's 2002 masterpiece "Talk to Her " and three films by Guillermo del Toro including "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Devil's Backbone ." Garcia has himself directed a number of straight-to-DVD releases, including "Return to House on Haunted Hill" and "Mirrors 2," a sequel to the 2008 horror film produced by Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures. His passion for and interest in the horror genre caught the attention of the Weinstein Company, who in 2010 tapped Garcia to direct the straight-to-DVD horror film "Hellraiser:Revelations."
