Ren Amamiya, a teen who recently finished a year of probation, has a bizarre encounter with classmate Ryuji Sakamoto and their PE teacher on his first day of school in Tokyo.

After Ren's Persona awakens, he and Ryuji attempt to face the evil within their abusive PE teacher.

When a student Kamoshida abused throws herself from the school rooftop, Ren, Ryuji, Yuuki and Ann take action against the teacher.

The newly formed Phantom Thieves of Hearts sends Kamoshida a warning; Ren gains a Persona while the group fights to drive back Kamoshida's dark side for good.

The Phantoms officially make it their mission to drive corruption from people's hearts and begin taking requests; Morgana explains his motivation.

The team meets Yusuke Kitagawa, an aspiring artist who invites them to meet his mentor, the successful painter Ichiryusai Madarame, after the teens find rumors online that Madarame plagiarizes his pupils' artwork.
