Long Time No See

During SARS in 2003, the cars entering Beijing form a long line on the highway to be inspected. He Yan's the only son of the boss of Yingke Real Estate, a well-known company. His fancy car is also in the line. Bai Xue, the rich girl of Bai family, is with him. He Yan has a fever, but he doesn’t want to be sent to the hospital as a suspected SARS patient. He drives through the checkpoint and nearly hits Hua Duo Duo and Nai Da, who are pushing a tricycle on the roadside. Hua Duo Duo is a student of Peking University. In order to earn her tuition fees, she often does some small businesses on campus. Nai Da and Hua Duo Duo are from the same county. Nai Da is the second generation of a very rich family. When Hua Duo Duo returns to school, she runs into her classmate, Ge Tian, who is looking for her to discuss a business partnership. Meanwhile, Hua Duo Duo is shocked to see Fang Ming walking into the school. She quickly returns to the dormitory and tells Meng Die to hide. Meng Die, very pretty, is also from the same county. Hua Duo Duo and Ge Tian are angry because their business is robbed. Fang Ming walks over and pours some soybean paste on Meng Die's face to humiliate her. At the same time, Ge Tian secretly puts the fake products into her box. When Hua Duo Duo receives the fake items on stage, she tells the audience about it. Her words throw them into turmoil. President Xia calls the police and orders Moral Education Office to assist in the investigation. He Yan tells the police to focus on Hua Duo Duo. But she doesn't know anything about the fake products. Hua Duo Duo refuses to be interrogated by the police and argues with them. To save Hua Duo Duo from the situation, Ge Tian calls the hospital and tells them that He Yan might be a suspected SARS patient. The ambulance soon arrives at the university and He Yan is taken to the hospital. Before he is taken away, he insists that Hua Duo Duo is his girlfriend to drag her down with him.

Bai Xue comes to the He’s house to look after He Yan. She mocks Meng Die and forces He Yan to choose between Meng Die and her. He Yan pretends to be in a coma. Hua Duo Duo rows fiercely with the police and refuses to accept the investigation. Then Ge Tian comes forward and claims that he would take full responsibility for this case. Ge Tian is taken away by the police. Hua Duo Duo is deeply moved and agrees to be his girlfriend. Meng Die is kicked out of He’s house by Bai Xue. He Wen Hua sympathizes with her. He takes her to the Great Wall to talk about the incident. Meng Die hypocritically weeps out her grief to He Wen Hua. Her cries evoke his sympathy. He Wen Hua's emotions are stirred up by her. On their way home, they develop feelings for each other. Meng Die senses the complex emotions of He Wen Hua, and it ignites something in her.

Hua Duo Duo can’t afford to pay the compensation that Ye Lin Na demands. In exchange for the withdrawal of the prosecution, He Yan asks Hua Duo Duo to work as a domestic worker for his family so that she can compensate them with a part of her wages. However, Ge Tian doesn’t know about their agreement. Hua Duo Duo, Ge Tian, and their classmates are taking graduation pictures on campus. They run into He Yan and Ye Lin Na who have come for business. He Yan refuses his mother’s help and insists on negotiating with President Xia as an individual. Ge Tian founds a small company on his own after graduation. He invites Hua Duo Duo to join his company, but she refuses him on the grounds that she would work in the property management industry.

Getting along with He Yan, Hua Duo Duo changes her mind about him. She finds his righteous and passionate side. Hua Duo Duo once accidentally turns off the power of He Yan’s computer while she cleans the room, which results in the corruption of the files. Desperate, Hua Duo Duo asks her younger brother, Hua Feng, to fix the computer. He Yan admires Hua Feng’s skills, so he doesn’t blame Hua Duo Duo, instead, he wants her to send him Hua Feng's resume. Hua Duo Duo’s cousin, Jian Dan, comes back from abroad. She reunites with Hua Duo Duo, and they go to a bar to talk to their hearts' content. Ever since Meng Die starts working in Yingke, He Wen Hua has treated He Yan unusually well. He goes to see He Yan, offers to invest in his company, and says he has confidence in him. In their conversation, He Wen Hua deliberately changes the subject to Meng Die. He is somehow relieved when he learns that his son has nothing to do with her. Ye Lin Na comes to Yingke to give He Wen Hua his favorite boiled fish. He is pleased and is very nice to her.

Hua Duo Duo accidentally crashes with a car behind her. Ge Tian happens to be there and witnesses this. He is surprised and follows Hua Duo Duo all the way to He's house. After returning to the mansion, Hua Duo Duo is scolded by Ye Lin Na. Hua Duo Duo argues with her saying that working as a driver is not a part of the contract. However, she is eventually fired by Ye Lin Na. On her way back, Hua Duo Duo is stopped by He Yan. Just then, Ge Tian drives by and pulls Hua Duo Duo away. Ge Tian thinks Hua Duo Duo became a maid just to get close to He Yan. Hua Duo Duo is very angry because Ge Tian misunderstands her intention. They part ways unhappily. Although Meng Die is fired, she doesn't give up. She comes to the mountain where He Wen Hua usually hikes to find him. Once He Wen Hua sees her, he collapses in an instant, and Meng Die wraps her arms around him. Their relationship begins to sprout.
