Abandoned souls become Hollows and seek out those they loved most while they were alive. Orihime's brother Sora, a Hollow, seeks her soul.

Chad, Ichigo's classmate, brings a cursed cockatiel. Sensing spirit energy in the bird, Rukia feels a need to help its soul pass on.

Rukia and Chad battle the Hollow haunting the "Cursed Cockatiel." Natsuki collapses after seeing the tragic memories of a boy spirit inside the bird.

Rukia goes to Urahara Store to buy supplies needed by a Soul Reaper. The mysterious owner, Kisuke Urahara, stocks strange products such as Soul Candy.
