Nightclub singer Angela (Nora Aunor) is jailed for the frustrated murder of her lover's wife. As her total ignorance of her rights prevents her from sufficiently defending herself, Angela ends up locked up within the grim halls of the city jail. While in prison, Angela meets convicted swindler Juliet (Gina Alajar), who escapes to save her son from the clutches of his evil stepparents; jailed prostitute Lena (Celia Rodriguez), who does everything for her son yet cannot save him from the crooked path he chooses; convicted murderer Viring (Perla Bautista), who slowly breaks down after being separated from her child; convicted arsonist Barbie (Mitch Valdez), who uses her borrowed authority to bully weaker inmates; and accused murderer Patricia (Marites Gutierrez), whose influence failed to save her from the evil lurking behind the prison walls. Seeing and experiencing life behind bars, Angela swears not to have her love child born in the place fashioned into a living hell by powerful people who do not care about justice, even if the other option--jailbreak--endangers both her life and her child's. Will any of them live to see justice?
