Chris Zylka

Chris Settlemire was born in Warren, Ohio, but became better known by his stage name, Chris Zylka, derived from his mother's maiden name. Zylka landed his first on-camera role with a guest appearance on the reboot of "Beverly Hills, 90210" (Fox 1990-2000) called simply "90210"(CW 2008-2013) in 2008. Following his appearance on teen soap, Zylka tried comedy when he landed a recurring role on the Chris Rock-produced comedy "Everybody Hates Chris" (UPN / CW 2005-09). Zylka then landed a sixteen-episode guest spot on another teen-centric show, "10 Things I Hate About You" (ABC Family 2009-2010). Zylka's big TV break came in 2011, when he was added to the main cast of supernatural teen drama "The Secret Circle" (CW 2011-12). Zylka was cast in a key supporting role as Jake Armstrong, an ex-witch hunter. The show was cancelled in 2012 despite a sizable teenage fan base. That same year, Zylka was cast as Eugene "Flash" Thompson in the blockbuster superhero epic "The Amazing Spider-Man" (2012), a role he reprised in the sequel "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" (2014), although his scenes were removed from the final cut. Zylka next joined the cast of the post-apocalyptic series "The Leftovers" (HBO 2014-17) as college dropout and religious acolyte Tommy Garvey. Between seasons, Zylka appeared in comedy horror film "Freaks of Nature" (2015), and starred in indie drama "Bare" (2015) and crime thriller "Dixieland" (2015), as well as TV movie "I Killed My BFF" (Lifetime 2015). Zylka next appeared in Xavier Dolan's "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan," although the Kit Harington-starring film was delayed following recasting and reshoots.
