Carrington V.C.

David Niven, Margaret Leighton and Noelle Middleton star in this 1954 British legal drama directed by Anthony Asquith. Major Carrington, who has been awarded with the Victoria Cross for his service in the war, is arrested and accused of embezzling money from his unit's safe as well as some other charges. He decides to act in his own defence and clear his name. At his court-martial he alleges he told his superior Colonel Henniker about taking the money from the safe because of back pay owed him for several posting costs he had to pay himself. But when it comes to helping his defence, he's facing opposition from the unlikeliest of quarters - his wife, and more things start to unravel.
