Prague Cans
Petr Kocourek sends his application to the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with the goal to study Graphic Design. He has already been rejected because the number of people applying is very high and only a handful of very gifted students are accepted. Also, the professor of Graphic Design is very strict and demanding. Kocourek´s mother has given up on understanding her son or believing in his bright future a long time ago. Therefore, she spends more and more time in the company of a very trusted “friend” – a bottle of vodka. Meanwhile, Michal Kolman is studying at the University of Economics for the second year, but is showing more interest in girls than in attending classes. He cheats or bribes his way through exams and projects. Kocourek, on the other hand, is diligent and hardworking. He also falls in love with the beautiful Julia, who is also trying to get accepted in the Academy of Arts. However, what both young men are most interested in, is illegal graffiti. They experience great adventures while spray painting Prague rooftops, bridges and train stations. They experience exhilarating moments which life in everyday consumer society cannot provide. Their hobby causes great tension within the community and leads to problems with their parents and even the police. After one spray painting night, Kocourek is chased down by the police and sentenced to three months of house arrest. He is forced to ware an ankle bracelet which prevents him from leaving his home and spray painting during the night. On the other hand, Kolman is caught bribing an associate professor and is about to be expelled from the University of Economics. How will this drama end? You will find out in the film Prague Cans.
