BPM Ecstasy: The Techno Scene in Beijing and Taipei

SUNK visits a legend in the Beijing techno scene: DJ Youdai switched on a generation to electronic dance music and raves.

In Taipei, Elvis T. goes in search of his roots with pioneer Lim Giong, favourite composer of film-maker Hou Hsiao-Hsien. And he discovers an unexpected face of Taiwanese identity, the aboriginal techno of Dungi Sapor. In Beijing, SUNK visits DADA Bar and Aurora, two clubs that show how resilient the scene is, while tamiX discovers the comics of Mongolian artist Lu Ming.

After a trip to Fruityspace, Beijing's most famous indie record shop, SUNK plays her first gig. Meanwhile, tamiX prepares to go abroad for the first time since the pandemic.
