Professor Ilyin and FSB colonel Lozovoy are conducting an experiment in a place where historian Martin Gallus believed to be a field of battle between a Polish king and the White Army. Several people are caught up in the incident: photographer Oleg Malinin, writer Veniamin Tartakovsky and criminal Vladimir Golenko. Golenko is on the run, pursued by Majors Svetlana and Denis.

Golenko and Malinin are delivered to a local hospital. A local police officer arrives to the hospital, looking for Golenko. However, Golenko is able to escape before Brazhnik and Nikolaeva arrive. Malinin is haunted by eerie visions, seeing the crimes committed by Golenko. These visions appear to be related to the stone that got stuck in Malinin's hat during the explosion of the quarry.

Three men, Vladimir Golenko, a criminal, Oleg Malinin, a photographer, and Benedict Tartakovsky, a failed writer, are brought together when they all happen to be located in the same as area as the secret service are conducting demolition work.

Police find Marianna's body. Brazhnik confesses to Nikolaeva that Malinin informed him of the impending crime, but he never believed him, leaving him in a psychiatric hospital instead. Tartakovsky plans to use Golenko to kill the literary critic Almazov who refused to print his stories. Nikolaeva, meeting with Malinin, leaves her phone and asks him to call if he receives visions of future crimes.

Tartakovsky, who can see not only Golenko, but everything that surrounds him, notices the impending police raid and orders Golenko to hide. Police raid Almazov's home, only to find Almazov there, alone and frightened.

Malinin is in despair. Brazhnik doesn't believe Malinin's visions, instead that he's the murderer's accomplice, and his suspicion is reinforced by Malinin's fingerprints found in Katya's apartment. Malinin is put on the wanted list.
