Hanan Hillo

Actress Hanan Hillo appeared in biblical epic "The Savior" (2014) and cross-cultural drama "Personal Affairs" (2016), but was best-known for playing Nasrin Hamed in award-winning political thriller "Fauda" (Yes Oh, 2015-). Born in Haifa, Israel, Hillo studied drama at her hometown's main university and began her career treading the boards in various productions, several of which she also wrote, later co-founding the women's theater, Oya. Hillo appeared in short films "Yasmine's Song" (2005) and "Dog Days" (2009), but her first major screen role arrived when she portrayed the Virgin Mary in the Arabic language Jesus biopic, "The Savior" (2014). A year later she joined the cast of "Fauda" (Yes Oh, 2015-), the critically-acclaimed drama depicting both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Hillo played Nasrin Hamed, the initially supportive wife of Hamas terrorist Taufiq who later flees to Berlin with their two children at the end of its first season. Following her departure, she appeared in three episodes of "Lechudim Betoch HaReshet" (Channel 1, 2015), played housewife Samar in "Personal Affairs" (2016), a bittersweet comedy about a family divided by the aforementioned conflict, and guested on crime series "Your Honor" (Yes, 2017-). After showing up as a nun in short film "Ten Bell Tolls" (2017), Hillo was cast as Maryam in "The Reports on Sarah and Saleem" (2017), a feature-length drama exploring the fallout of an affair between a married Israeli woman and married Palestinian man.
