ピーター・ガンツェラー

Born in Denmark in the late '50s, Peter Gantzler took a while to finally embrace acting, as he spent the majority of his 20s appearing in a few Danish shows and films before fully committing to professionally acting in his 30s. He made his debut in an episode of the Danish TV show "Flid, fedt og snyd" (DR 1981-82) before making his film debut in "Rocking Silver" (1983). Throughout the '90s, he appeared in a variety of Danish productions, most notably "Taxa" (DR 1997-99), a series about two rival taxicab companies in Copenhagen. By the end of the '90s, his work started to make it overseas, albeit usually in limited releases. Gantzler's most notable work was likely his turn in the successful comedy "Italian for Beginners" (2000), though he also made it to America in the international releases of the action comedy "In China They Eat Dogs" (1999) and the animated film "A Fish Tale" (2000). While his American career didn't take off, his notoriety in his homeland kept rising, as he appeared in a variety of different projects in the early 2000s, including the family comedy "My Sister's Kids" (2001), dramedy "Better Off Dad" (2003), and drama "The Judge" (2005). After that run, Gantzler co-starred in the Lars von Trier film "The Boss of It All" (2006), and then followed that up with appearances in film ranging from period epic "A Viking Saga: Son of Thor" (2008) to drama "33 Scenes from Life" (2008). He has also appeared on the historical action show based on the formation of England called "The Last Kindgom" (BBC America 2015-).
