Best known as the recurring character Sloan on the series "The Vampire Diaries" (CW, 2009-2017), Caitlin McHugh was born. Initially attracted to the public eye by way of the modeling industry, McHugh began working both on the runway and in front of the camera, signing with the Wilhelmina modeling agency and even appearing in Celia Rowlson-Hall's fashion-themed dance theatrical event "All That Glitters Is Sold" at the Lincoln Center Institute in 2007. Eventually, McHugh transitioned into acting, making her first appearance in the feature film "I Am Legend" (2007). She set her sights on the small screen as well, making appearances on prominent TV shows such as "Castle" (ABC, 2009-2016) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-). Being cast on "The Vampire Diaries" increased McHugh's profile considerably, and she capitalized on the uptick in her notoriety with a starring role in the thriller "48 Hrs. To Live" (2016). Around this same time, entertainment news sources began reporting that McHugh had began a relationship with actor John Stamos. By the following year, the two publicly announced their engagement, and McHugh was appearing in the comedy "Random Tropical Paradise" (2017) in addition to writing and starring in the short film "Ingenue-ish" (2017).
