Susan Heyward

Susan Heyward was a talented New York actress who made headlines in the summer of 2014 after she landed the female lead in "Powers" (PlayStation, 2014), the first TV series produced by Sony PlayStation. On the show Heyward played a detective who, along with her partner (played by South African actor Sharlto Copley), is out to protect the world from supervillians known as "powers." Although she was a relatively unknown when she landed the role, Heyward had been acting steadily since the mid-2000s. She landed her first on-screen role in the indie comedy "Sofia for Now" in 2006, and followed that up with a recurring part on "Michael & Michael Have Issues" (Comedy Central, 2009), which starred the comedy duo of Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter. Heyward continued doing mostly TV acting over the next few years, having landed guest spots on shows like "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010), "30 Rock" (NBC, 2006-2013), and "666 Park Avenue" (ABC, 2012-13). Then in 2014 she received her first big break by nabbing a recurring part on the hit Fox thriller "The Following" (Fox, 2013-15). 2014 was also the year Heyward landed the part of Detective Deena Pilgrim on the inaugural PlayStation series, "Powers." Adapted from a popular graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the show premiered on the PlayStation Network on March 10, 2015.
