Kelly Carlson

The Carlson began her career modeling in her hometown of Minneapolis, MN, and over time she appeared in national campaigns for Miller Lite and Rembrandt toothpaste. Her first acting role was as a tough biker babe in the Kevin Costner road trip vehicle "3000 Miles to Graceland" (2001). In 2004, Carlson signed on to star in the straight-to-video sequel "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation," a move that caused some confusion for fans of American Idol Kelly Clarkson as news sites mistakenly reported that the pop star would be taking on the role. But viewers had no doubt that alien ass-kicking Lt. Charlie Soda was played by none other than Carlson, as the film famously included nude scenes. Also in 2004, Carlson had a small role in the Mel Gibson-produced "Paparazzi." But it's Carlson's portrayal of the troubled Kimber on the critically acclaimed "Nip/Tuck" (2003 -) that has received the most notice. The troubled model, in search of even more perfect beauty and the love she hopes comes with it, was initially intended to be a guest star in the pilot episode. Carlson's portrayal proved so compelling that producers soon made Kimber a key character who has appeared in over a dozen episodes of the hit series. The actress convincingly delivered the pain and pathos of the character, and her enviable physique also made her a favorite cover girl on the "laddie mag" circuit of Maxim and Stuff. Carlson takes time from her busy schedule on the plastic surgery show to volunteer with the Smile Network - a group that provides needed reconstructive and plastic surgery to children in impoverished nations. Carlson has also spent time visiting and entertaining troops who have returned from the war in Iraq. Considering her latest volunteer work, the title of her next film is fitting: "The Marine" (2005) - the first feature production by Vince McMahon's WWE Films.
