We Are Now

Laura and her friends Zoe, Julia and Mira are pre-gaming. It’s party time! All their talk is about sex. While Laura is uncertain about going further with Olli, Zoe thinks she shouldn’t do it only to please him. Laura is undecided, as rumor has it that her rival, Fee, has a willing reputation in that respect. Julia shows the girls a video some pervert sent to her. Olli wants to get their mutual friend Daniel to hook up. Completely high, he makes an unusual suggestion, which suddenly causes a shift in the mood. They head off to a party and Daniel meets his blind date, but things don’t run too smoothly. Laura gets drunk.

Laura wakes up with a complete hangover and sees Daniel next to her in bed. She’s naked and has no clue what happened. She leaves without waking him up and goes to school. They agree not to tell Olli about their night spent together, as if nothing happened. It's Olli’s 18th birthday party, but for Laura, nothing is like it used to be. She feels Daniel becoming more than just a friend. Julia had sex with Timon and sent him nude selfies of herself afterward to keep his attention. Zoe’s ex is at the party. Laura has to comfort her best friend – even though she herself needs a shoulder.

Olli drives off in his car, full of anger and completely drunk. Meanwhile, it is early morning and the party mood has changed into sobriety. Laura and Daniel are full of guilt and can barely look at each other. Soon, police are at the doorstep. Laura and Zoe lie to Hannah, Olli’s sister, about Olli being a witness to the kiss. This lie weighs heavily on their friendship. Laura can’t find a way through to her feelings. Her feelings of guilt are intensified by the exclusion of her friends and classmates. Julia and Laura hit back at Timon for spreading the nude photos of Julia online and sending the private video. Meanwhile, Hannah suspects Laura is hiding something from her.

As Laura gets outed on school social media with cruel comments and blamed as responsible for Olli’s fate, she is the victim of a huge bullying campaign. Only Fee, her old rival, and Julia stick by her. Laura tries to reconcile with Zoe. Julia realizes that she made a mistake with regard to her nude photos. To distract Laura and have her place by herself, Fee suggests they party with two really sweet guys. While they are all alone with these older guys, Laura drinks too much and there are other drugs around.

After the upsetting experiences of the last few weeks, 18-year-old Laura is chilling with her girl clique at a campsite by the lake. In the face of hurt feelings, bullying and involuntary nude photos, the girls agree: "no guys" as the rule on site. However, in the shimmering heat, during exuberant stealing sprees, bathing parties, and carousing around the campfire, the clique's oath is quickly forgotten. When Laura suspects that one of her friends has secretly fallen in love with Daniel, she reacts enviously. Laura is emotionally torn between the memory of Olli, the holiday flirtation with Noah – and her jealousy of Daniel. Finally, Noah gains access to a luxury villa and starts with hijacks of wine cellars and wardrobes, along with Laura's clique, to have the ultimate party.

Laura's new acquaintance, Noah, has conquered the whole villa with the clique. Dressed up in expensive furs, there's no stopping them at the damp, happy party in the house and garden. Laura plays a dangerous game with Daniel and Zoe to find out what's going on between them. Laura wants to numb her emotional chaos with even more alcohol and partying. However, during a spontaneous joyride with Noah in a stolen sports car, the memory of Olli's accident catches up with her.
