Wonders of the Ocean
The Pacific is the largest, deepest ocean on our planet. It encompasses the most extreme range of environments nature has to offer, from deep ocean trenches to undersea volcanoes; tropical lagoons to wave-tossed sub-Antarctic waters. It’s also home to more islands than any other place on earth, which range from coconut lined atolls to barren volcanic rocks and Jurassic remnants of a drowned continent. The most remarkable thing about the Pacific is that life has managed to gain a foothold in all these environments.
