Ku'damm '56

Monika Schöllack fights against her strict mother and the conventions of the time; a rebellion motivated by her passion for rock'n'roll. Her mother Caterina wants Monika and her two sisters, Eva and Helga, to marry as well as possible.

Monika continues to immerse herself in the world of rock'n'roll, and despite discovering another side to Joachim she tells him how she feels. Helga realises that marriage to Wolfgang comes with problems, and Eva gets closer to a patient's husband.

Monika succeeds in freeing herself from her mother's control through her passion for rock'n'roll, though she ends up in a vulnerable position. Meanwhile, her sisters are torn between social respectability and their personal feelings.
