The Way Home

Spoiled seven-year-old Sang-Woo (Seung-Ho Yoo) is in for a bit of culture shock when his busy cosmopolitan mother leaves him in the care of his gnarled, mute grandmother (Eul-Boon Kim) for a couple of months. As mom tries to find a new job in Seoul, Sang-Woo must adjust to life with grandma in a rural ramshackle hovel with minimal electricity and no plumbing or nearby fast food outlets. Jeong-Hyang Lee's economical parable about patience and the power of unconditional love broke box-office records in her native South Korea.
