Caspar Lee

Caspar Lee was a South African YouTube celebrity whose self-titled channel had over 6 million subscribers as of August 2016. Born in London and raised in the South African city of Knysna, Lee was an outgoing child who could often be seen singing and dancing. He suffered a small setback, however, when at the age of 6 he was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. Despite being diagnosed with Tourette's, Lee refused to allow it to hold him back from achieving his dreams of becoming a professional entertainer. He continued performing for friends and family, and was easily one of the most popular kids at his school. While having learned to hone his comedic chops with random performances for friends and family, Lee decided to start posting some of his skits on YouTube. He launched his self-titled YouTube channel in 2011 primarily as a source for people he knew to watch some of his stuff. Little did he know, however, that his channel would soon take off. Within a few years Lee's videos were being watched by millions of people and by 2016 he had already accumulated over 6 million devoted subscribers to his channel. In addition to his YouTube material, Lee branched out into TV acting, with appearances on the Showtime series "Web Therapy" (Showtime, 2009-2014), starring Lisa Kudrow, as well as parts in films like "Spud 3: Learning to Fly" (2014), and "Joe and Caspar Hit the Road" (2015), which co-starred fellow YouTube performer Joe Sugg. Lee reached a major milestone in August of 2016 when his channel reached 600 million video views.
