Confessions of a Crime Boss

Through his own words, John Gilligan recounts his days moving up through the criminal underground of the 1970’s & 80’s in Dublin. Through Ireland’s social turmoil and increasing poverty, Gilligan would evolve from petty theft to bank robbery at a young age, earning his place in the growing crime market.

A new culture would sweep through the Irish newspapers. Journalists were no longer just a source of information- they were becoming public personalities. One such journalist, Veronica Guerin, would begin a series of investigative pursuits regarding the surge in Irish gangland crime.

In the wake of Veronica Guerin’s death, the Irish public would scramble to come to terms with the daylight murder of a journalist. John Gilligan tells his side of the story, denying any involvement in her untimely death. As prime suspect, John Gilligan would flee the country until ultimately getting arrested in the U.K - charged for drug trafficking.
