Teri Weinberg

Television producer Teri Weinberg started out in the industry as a talent agent, nurturing projects adapted from literary sources. Shortly after moving to a new position that entailed elements of development, casting, and production, she became closely involved with the unscripted singing-competition series "Nashville Star." Her first scripted-series producing gigs came in the form of the BBC-based programs "Coupling" and "I'm with Stupid," both of which proved Weinberg to be a stellar overseer of comedies adapted from foreign material. As a result, she landed the role of executive producer on "Ugly Betty," a hit fashion-industry dramedy based on a Colombian telenovela. While producing numerous episodes of Showtime's sexually charged period drama "The Tudors," Weinberg became an integral executive force behind the celebrated workplace farce "The Office," garnering several Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series. After being named the vice president of NBC Entertainment in 2007, Weinberg continued to populate the network's schedule with various series such as the dysfunctional-family sitcom "Kath & Kim" and the action drama "The Philanthropist," a cult show about a billionaire playboy who used his fortune to positively alter the lives of others.
