Cayden Boyd

Child star Cayden Boyd's acting career began in earnest after he landed a small part in Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood's detective drama "Mystic River" (2003). He then made brief appearances in two films with actor-comedian Ben Stiller: the sports comedy "DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story" (2004) and "Envy" (2004), the tale of a love-hate relationship between suburban neighbors who allow money to come between them. Boyd's first lead role was as Max, a boy with an overactive imagination, in the 2005 family-friendly action-fantasy "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D." Boyd is friends with teen heartthrob Taylor Lautner, who played Sharkboy. The avid youth football player did his own harness stunts for the film, mostly in front of a green screen. Boyd returned from Los Angeles to his native Texas in 2008 to play Benjamin Reynolds in the 1960s period drama "Have Dreams, Will Travel." This youth romance focused on a young boy who sets off on a road trip in the hopes of leaving his troubled family life behind. His co-star was AnnaSophia Robb, who is best known for her performance in another adolescent love story, "Bridge to Terabithia" (2007), and for playing Violet Beuaregarde in the 2005 adaptation of Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." His sister is actress Jenna Boyd.
