Brendan Scannell

Brendan Scannell was an American comedian and actor who broke out in 2018 after joining the cast of "Heathers" (Paramount Network, 2018-), a TV remake of the 1988 high school-themed black comedy. Born and raised in Indiana, Scannell's desire to perform began while he was attending college in Chicago. He began taking improvisational comedy classes on nights and weekends, and quickly found that he loved it. After a number of years of performing in sketch/improv groups in Chicago, Scannell decided to broaden his skillset by trying his hand at standup. He moved to Los Angeles shortly after and quickly began immersing himself in LA's cutting edge standup scene. Although a relative standup novice at the time of his arrival, Scannell began performing at various clubs and venues around the city. Within a couple years he had made a name for himself around town as a hot young comic to watch, which ultimately lead to some acting work. He started appearing in funny short films in the early 2010s, and before long was writing for and appearing on a weekly Internet talk show called "Jeffrey Live" (Internet, 2016-). In 2017 Scannell landed his very first movie role in the horror flick "Kill Game" (2017), all while continuing to hone his standup act night after night throughout Los Angeles. Then in 2018 Scannell landed his big break when he was cast in the TV remake of "Heathers." The series premiered on the Paramount Network in early 2018 with Scannell playing the part of Heather Duke. "Heathers" was Scannell's first major TV role.
