The House of the Rochevilles
Victor de Rocheville and his friend Fabio, the son of a servant, lived through a carefree, protected childhood and have experienced the vagaries and vicissitudes of life; now, the curse of Rocheville is on the move.
While Victor, Fabio and Martin try to escape a massacre in Villeblanche, Eugénie, Mathilde and Antonella survive as well as they can; in 1915, they both give birth to boys: Charles and Antonio.
Mathilde confronts her mother, Clélia, who tells her that she is Joseph de Rocheville's illegitimate child and, before he died, he promised her a share of his estate; Mathilde vows that she will do anything necessary to re-establish her rights.
In 1940, the French army has been destroyed; Charles is friends with the new leaders of the country.
In the wake of Victor's death, Villeblanche's estate starts trading again; Eugénie frees Charles; the gap widens between mother and son.
