Yuri and the Volunteer Army come up against powerful foes, and are forced to retreat when defeated by the Black King.

Aram becomes friends with Yuri and the others. When they realise that Pirika must still be alive, they set off on a rescue mission.

Aram is offered a good sword by Dusty, serving only to further upset Burckhardt, and their strained relationship causes unforeseen problems.

The gang find their way to the Sage's Tower in search of leads on Pirika, where they don't receive a warm welcome.

Aram and Yuri are stranded in Maze Pass, where they learn more about each other, and discover some unlikely allies and enemies.

With Shuza on a mission to go after the Chain Chronicle, Juliana makes the difficult decision to succeed the throne.
