Griff Rhys Jones explores the stunningly beautiful South Downs in Sussex. In search of what makes this landscape so special, Griff takes in a bird's eye view from the air and a biker's view from the ground.

Griff explores the picturesque estuaries of Suffolk & Essex as he continues his journey through the landscape. Amongst his challenges are attempting to eat a Colchester Native & helping to build a replica of the Mayflower.

In the third episode, Griff explores the spectacularly beautiful Scottish Highlands. In search of Britain's second largest bird of prey, he travels through this extraordinary and ancient landscape in a variety of ways.

This fourth film explores the pleasures and perils of upland moors and in particular the legendary Dartmoor National Park. In each of the eight films Griff is set a challenge from a hidden hand that forces him to get under the surface of the region he is in. Pausing for rest in a moorland church Griff spots his challenge posted on the hymn board, Griff, solve a mystery of the moor!

This fifth film explores the British obsession with the seaside, perhaps this has got something to do with the fact there are 20,000 miles of it around the country! In each of the eight films Griff is set a challenge from a hidden hand, forcing him to get under the surface of whichever region he is in. Griff kicks off in Scarborough, Britain's oldest seaside town. His challenge, emblazoned on a deck chair, is to hunt a vampire! Not that surprising given that Count Dracula's creator Bram Stoker wrote his famous book just twenty miles up the coast in Whitby.

This sixth film explores lakelands, and in particular the Lake District, the most popular National Park in Britain attracting nearly 16 million visitors a year! In each of the eight films Griff is set a challenge from a hidden hand, forcing him to get under the surface of the region he is in. Griff awakes in the stately Duke of Portland's boathouse on the shores of Ullswater. His challenge, disguised as a parking ticket slapped on the hull of his sailboat, is to break a record. This makes sense to Griff, the Lake District is renowned for its superlatives, the highest mountain, the longest lake, the wettest region! All Griff has to do is find something to excel at.
